My batch is cooking now. I had fresh cayenne peppers and put 3 in. I added a little more celery because I just cleaned two stalks. Instead of the extra water, I used extra chicken stock, because I needed to use it. Regular cooking for me, but the rest was by the book.
Basmati, which I have never used, is Lundberg family farms sustainabel california brown.
This is similar to a dish I do 3 to 4 times a year with potatoes and italian sausage. I will let you know about the Basmati when done.

I thought it was great, but needed more salt. But my wife did not like the cayenne pepper taste. But I love it and my son will be home from college in two weeks. I will freeze it and we will eat the leftovers.
